This Production Policy pertains to the ongoing use of MOD Films productions online through modfilms.net and other web sites, as well as through traditional media.
MOD Films promotes a new style of film production which respects the rights of creators and audience to re-interpret material and engage with it more freely for longer.
MOD Films aims to develop a commercial approach to film sampling that serves both professional film-makers and their audience.
MOD Films records data associated with media productions for the purpose of identifying sampling linkages and context between works. The company will endevour to maintain an up-to-date record of 3rd party products but will not be liable for any inaccuracies on these. Wherever possible, work will be referenced by the labels used on initial release, irrespective of language.
MOD Films promotes legal re-use of digital media and creative sampling by allowing derived work (MODs) to be directly linked back to original titles for attribution and licensing.
MOD Films will not promote MODs that it deems disrespectful to the creative partners involved in MOD Films productions, whether they be cast or crew.
MOD Films will provide non-commercial access to media assets while developing commercial distribution distribution and commercial re-use opportunities. MOD Films believes non-commercial re-use can co-exist with commercial re-use, and in fact will encourage new forms of commercial re-use.
MOD Films licenses material in a way that allows other people to sample, mash-up, or otherwise creatively transform this work for non-commercial purposes.
MOD Films reserves the right to allow other people to perform, display, and distribute copies of this whole work for non-commercial purposes (e.g., file-sharing or non-commercial webcasting).
MOD Films will give credit to the original author and/or contributors of any work.
